Mark Tavendale

Christchurch lawyer Mark Tavendale originally trained with Clifton Cook and appeared in his first opera in 1987 – Canterbury Opera’s Carmen.  He subsequently appeared in numerous productions for the company including Rigoletto and Turandot.  In 1996 he performed the role of Second Priest in The Magic Flute and Don Curzio in The Marriage of Figaro.

 

Mark has appeared as a soloist with Cantores Chamber Choir and the Jubilate Singers.  For Southern Opera, he has appeared in the Solid Energy Ensemble of Southern Opera and in Carmen and Il trovatore.  Earlier this year, Mark performed the role of Gherardo in Gianni Schicchi and recently appeared as the Second Priest in The Magic Flute.
